The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra: Helicopter Edition (Ex-Lucknow) is a meticulously crafted 9-day pilgrimage designed to provide a swift, safe, and spiritually enriching journey to the abode of Lord Shiva. By replacing long, exhausting road travels with strategic helicopter transfers, this package makes the sacred "Center of the Universe" accessible to a wider range of devotees, including seniors and those with limited time.
This specialized itinerary begins in the accessible city of Lucknow, serving as a convenient gateway for Indian pilgrims. By utilizing helicopter shuttles between Simikot and Hilsa, we bypass days of strenuous overland trekking, allowing you to conserve your energy for the most important aspect of the trip: your spiritual connection at the holy peaks.
We understand that this journey is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Our team provides an emergency kit with oxygen cylinders, experienced guides who understand the terrain, and a supportive environment where your safety and spiritual goals are our highest priority.

Your sacred journey begins with a pickup from the historic city of Lucknow. We embark on a scenic drive toward the Nepal border. Upon reaching Nepalgunj, you will be transferred to your hotel. Depending on flight schedules and local conditions, we may proceed to Surkhet to position ourselves better for the morning mountain flight. Spend the evening resting and preparing for the high-altitude adventure ahead.
Early in the morning, we take a breathtaking 1-hour flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot. This flight offers stunning views of the lush Nepalese foothills and deep river valleys. Simikot is a beautiful, remote mountain outpost. We spend the rest of the day here for essential acclimatization, allowing your body to adjust to the higher altitude before entering Tibet.
A spectacular 20-minute helicopter shuttle whisks you from Simikot to Hilsa, the tiny border settlement near Tibet. As we wait for the entire group to assemble for the collective visa entry, you can enjoy the rugged border landscape. After completing immigration, a short 27 km drive takes us into Tibet to the town of Taklakot (Purang). Expect a few security checkpoints where we witness the disciplined border protocols.
To ensure a safe and successful Kora, this day is entirely dedicated to acclimatization in Taklakot. You are free to relax at the hotel or take gentle walks through the local markets. Proper rest today is the key to conquering the high passes in the coming days.
Today is a highlight of the Yatra. We drive 95 km toward the sacred Lake Mansarovar. Along the way, we pause at Rakshas Tal, where the mighty Gurla Mandhata Parvat and the first stunning view of Mount Kailash appear on the horizon. We then proceed for the 90 km Parikrama of the lake by a private A/C coach. We will stop at the shore for you to perform your Puja and soak in the divine energy of this celestial lake.
After breakfast, a short drive brings us to Darchen and then to Yama Dwar, the gateway to the kingdom of Lord Shiva. This is the official starting point of the 12 km trek (5–7 hours). As you walk, the North Face of Mt. Kailash looms large, offering a sight that stays with you forever.
(Note: Those not participating in the trek will return to Darchen for a comfortable stay while waiting for the group).
This is the most spiritually significant and physically challenging day. We begin a 22 km trek (8–9 hours), starting with a 2-hour steep ascent to the Dolma La Pass (5,700m). We pass through Shiva-sthal, a place of symbolic rebirth. On the descent, you will be blessed with the sight of the emerald-green Gauri Kunda. The day ends in the peaceful valley of Zuthulphuk.
A final, easy 8 km trek brings us to the pickup point where our coach awaits. We reunite with the rest of the group in Darchen and begin the drive back to the border at Hilsa (122 km). Depending on the weather and time, we will either stay at the border or take a helicopter back to Simikot to prepare for the final flights.
The journey concludes as we fly from Simikot back to Nepalgunj/Surkhet. From there, our representative will drive you back to Lucknow, where you will be dropped off at the airport or railway station, carrying with you the eternal blessings of the Great Mahadev.
