After meeting your driver in Gorakhpur, you’ll head north across the Sonauli border. As you enter the Terai plains of Nepal, the air turns calmer.
The Spiritual Core: Spend your afternoon at the Maya Devi Temple, the exact birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama. The Ashoka Pillar nearby stands as a 2,000-year-old receipt of his legacy.
A Global Village: Use those E-Rickshaws to hop between the Monastic Zones. It’s like a world tour of architecture—from the ornate Thai monastery to the minimalist German stupa.
Pro Tip: Catch the sunset at the World Peace Pagoda; the white dome glows beautifully in the twilight.

This is a transition day where the flat plains give way to the winding Siddhartha Highway.
The Journey: You’ll follow the Trishuli and Narayani Rivers. Keep your camera ready for suspension bridges and terraced rice fields.
Evening at Lakeside: Once you check in at Pokhara, head straight to Phewa Lake. The reflection of the Annapurna range on the water is the best welcome gift you could ask for.
The Sarangkot Dawn: An early start is non-negotiable. Watching the sun hit Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) in shades of gold is a core memory.
Nature’s Power: Visit Davis Falls, where the water disappears into an underground tunnel, and then explore Gupteshwor Cave to see the waterfall from below.
The Island Temple: Take a colorful wooden boat to Tal Barahi, situated right in the middle of Phewa Lake.
Optional: If you’re feeling brave, Pokhara is one of the world's best spots for Paragliding.
Morning Departure: Depart from Pokhara early to reach Kurintar (approx. 3.5 hours).
The Cable Car Experience: Park the vehicle at the base station and take the 10-minute Manakamana Cable Car ride. It’s an exhilarating 2.8 km journey soaring over lush green hills and the Trishuli River.
Darshan at the Temple: Visit the Manakamana Devi Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Bhagwati. It is locally believed that she fulfills the heart's desires (Mana = Heart, Kamana = Wish).
Lunch with a View: Enjoy a traditional Nepali meal at the hilltop with panoramic views of the Manaslu and Annapurna ranges before heading back down.
Arrival in Kathmandu: Continue the 3-hour drive to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, check in and relax or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel.
Pashupatinath: A sacred Hindu temple complex on the Bagmati River. It is deeply moving and a masterclass in Newari architecture.
Boudhanath: Walk clockwise with the pilgrims around this massive white dome. The "Eyes of Buddha" watching over the plaza create a powerful atmosphere.
Swayambhunath: High on a hill, this "Monkey Temple" offers a 360-degree view of the Kathmandu Valley.
Patan Durbar Square: Often called the "City of Fine Arts," the stone carvings and bronze statues here are unmatched.
Early Departure: Since this is a long drive (approx. 8–10 hours depending on traffic), an early 6:00 AM start is highly recommended.
The Descent: You’ll descend from the mountains back to the plains of India. Use this time to scroll through your photos and enjoy one last authentic Nepali Thali (Dal Bhat) at a highway side stop.
Final Drop: Arrive in Gorakhpur by evening for your onward train or flight.
