Arrival: Meet your guide at Paro International Airport and begin the 1.5-hour drive to Thimphu.
Chuzom: Stop at the confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers to see the unique three-style stupas.
Thimphu City: Check into your hotel. Spend your first evening exploring the local markets and the Norzin Lam main street.
Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point): Visit the massive golden Buddha statue overlooking the valley.
National Memorial Chorten: Observe the daily prayers and circumambulation by locals at this iconic landmark.
Simply Bhutan: Visit this "living" museum. Here you can try traditional butter tea, watch folk dances, attempt local archery, and see demonstrations of traditional mud-rammed construction.
Motithang Takin Preserve: See the unique Takin, Bhutan's national animal.
Tashichho Dzong: Visit this impressive fortress that serves as the administrative and religious hub of the capital.
Dochula Pass: Drive to this 3,100m mountain pass to see the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and the Himalayan peaks.
Chimi Lhakhang: Take a gentle walk through rice fields to the "Fertility Temple."
Punakha Dzong: Explore the stunning fortress located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.
Suspension Bridge: Cross one of the longest suspension bridges in the country for a great view of the river valley.
Return Drive: Head back toward Paro (approx. 4 hours).
Ta Dzong: Visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in an ancient circular watchtower.
Rinpung Dzong: Walk through this fortress, which translates to "Fortress of the Heap of Jewels."
Kyichu Lhakhang: Visit one of the oldest and most sacred 7th-century temples in Bhutan.
The Hike: Trek to the famous monastery perched on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro valley. The round trip usually takes 5 to 6 hours.
Cafeteria Stop: Take a break at the halfway point for tea and a spectacular view of the cliffside temple.
Evening: Return to Paro. You may want to try a traditional Hot Stone Bath to relax after the trek.
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your return flight.
