Guwahati to Bhalukpong:
Upon arrival at Guwahati, begin the drive toward the Arunachal border. The landscape shifts from the bustling plains into the serene tropical forests of the foothills. Reach Bhalukpong by the banks of the Jia Bharali River, where the air turns cooler and the Himalayan foothills begin to rise.
Bhalukpong to Dirang via Bomdila :
Head higher into the mountains toward Bomdila. Visit the local monastery to witness its vibrant Tibetan architecture and enjoy the view of the surrounding peaks. Continue to the picturesque Dirang Valley to explore the Thupsung Dhargye Ling Monastery and walk through the local market to observe the traditional Monpa way of life.
Dirang to Tawang via Sela pass:
The journey reaches a high point at Sela Pass, standing at 13,700 ft. Walk along the shores of the turquoise Sela Lake, which remains partially frozen during the winter. Stop at Jaswant Garh to honor the bravery of the Indian Army before descending into the spiritual heart of the region, Tawang.
Bhumla Pass ( Madhuri lake ) Sungester Lake & PTSO :
Set out for a rugged excursion to the Bum La Pass (15,200 ft), a significant border point between India and China. Visit the breathtaking Madhuri Lake, famous for its submerged trees, and the serene PTSO Lake. Return to Tawang town for a powerful Light and Sound show at the war memorial.
Tawang sightseeing and transfer to Dirang or Bomdila via Sela tunnel :
Explore the historic Tawang Monastery and the massive Buddha Point overlooking the valley. On the return drive, experience the newly opened Sela Tunnel, an engineering feat. Stop at the majestic 100-meter Jung Falls for photos before settling in for the night in the Dirang or Bomdila region.
Dirang / Bomdilla to Guwahati ( if time permits via Shergaon) :
Begin the long descent back to Assam. Watch the vegetation change from pine forests back to the lush greenery of the plains. Reach Guwahati by the evening, allowing time to relax at the hotel or explore the local city markets for Assam silk and handicrafts.
Kamakhya Darshan other sightseeing and departure:
